Major Figures of Ukrainian Modernism

Join is for an afternoon talk series featuring Professor Olha Khometa and MFA Graduate Student Malina Infante on Sunday, November 15th at X:00pm!  The event will take place at the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, 2320 W. Chicago Avenue.

Professor Khometa will be presenting her research titled "Ukraine's Mystic Pavlo Tychyna: The Poetry Book The Sunny Clarinets."  This lecture will analyze the mystical philosophy and poetry in Tychyna's 1918 debut poetry collection The Sunny Clarinets.

Malina Infante will be presenting her comparative literary analysis on Lesya Ukraïnka and Ol'ha Kobylianska, which considers the role of their feminist philosophies in the construction of the Ukrainian national consciousness.  Malina will also read her poetry informed by Ukraïnka and Kobylians'ka's work.
